Bernard AdamusBernard Adamus, a singer-songwriter of Polish origin living in Montreal, first received attention after a solo stint at the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée where he took 6 of the 12 awards handed out as well as the "newcomer" distinction for two performances with his band at the 2009 edition of Les Francofolies. His popularity continued at Festiblues where he stole first prize and was awarded an invitation to Blues sur Seine in France. Success followed him to France and back, with a memorable performance at Coups de Cœur Francophones. Connaisseurs will see in Adamus that which has made him the singular performer that he is on the current scene: an artist with a deep-rooted love of folk, country and blues, a unique energy and a true command of each genre. The success of his first album Brun (May 2009) confirmed Bernard’s hope that it was possible to sing the blues in French in Quebec without it coming of as kitch or, even worse, lifeless and drab.
