Nelly Arcan

Nelly Arcan was born in 1975 in the Eastern Townships and now lives in Montreal. Her first novel, Putain, enjoyed immediate critical and media success and was a finalist for both the Prix Médicis and the Prix Fémina. Since then, she has written several short stories, opinion pieces and columns for various Quebec newspapers and literary magazines. Her second novel will be published by Éditions du Seuil in September 2004.
