Avec pas d’casque

«Avec pas d’casque, is like a badly dressed beautiful girl.» It’s with these approximate words that columnist Catherine Perrin described the music of the band, upon the release of their third album, Dans la nature jusqu’au cou (Up to the neck in nature), last fall. Offering a mix of sparse country folk with colourful lyrics, Avec pas d’casque privileges a homemade craftsman like approach on the album. In 2006, the band received two nominations at the ADISQ gala, one for “country album of the year” for their album Trois chaudières de sang (Three cauldrons of blood) . The same year, the band brought home the «Prix Miroir de l’artiste d’ici» («Mirror prize for local artist») at the Festival d’été de Québec. During the last few years, APDC has participated in several festivals such as the FME, Montreal’s Francofolies, Pop Montreal and the regretted Festival de Musique incroyable (Incredible Music Festival).
