The Capital of Plastic DaffodilsOffering kinetic and psychedelic musings, five-piece band The Capital of Plastic Daffodils plays self-conscious and meandering “songs” — at once gleefully primitive and dreamily flamboyant. Written and composed by international performance artist Victoria Stanton and arranged by concert pianist Nicolas Lê Quang along with ambient sound artist Christian Richer, these naïve, playful, absurd and mournful warblings for adult children take as much inspiration from the innocent sounds of Sesame Street as they do from the manic and (delightfully) deranged ditties by Syd Barrett or the Danielson Famile. We are indeed demented, but gentle. The Capital of Plastic Daffodils is: Nicolas Gouin, drums; Simon Heller, flute; Nicolas Lê Quang, bass, keyboards & F/X; Christian Richer, electric guitar, laptop & F/X; Victoria Stanton, keyboards, vocals & tambourine Featured in event
