Véronique Cyr

Born in Montreal in 1978, Véronique Cyr has a master degree in literature and has published two books of poetry, La maison sans miroir (Poètes de brousse, 2006), which was a finalist for the Readers Prize at the poetry market that same year, and La vie liquide (Poetes de brousse, 2008.) Her poetry addresses the world of infancy with great lucidity and tries to see body and words as an always changing “self sculpture”. A certain rythm in amorous desire sets the moment of love as a first and last trouble, an always uncertain event in a dialogue with the need for being scarred: “l’idée d’un fil / à travers les continents”. Sinced 2006 she has been teaching French to newly arrived emigrants. Her next book will be structured around language deviancy, proposed as a loving round about, in the territories of photographic images.
