Ran Elfassy

Ran Elfassy has consistently been occupied with the limits and values of language. His interest in performed texts dovetailed with the inception of Fluffy Pagan Echoes, and he continued to perform solo and in collaborative contexts until 1997. Mr. Elfassy began making artist's books that year, and his books run the media gamut from print on paper, to glass, photography and other less conventional materials. He has published nine books in limited edition runs, and has sold five books to the artist's book collection of the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec. He completed a degree from Concordia University's creative writing program in 1999. Mr. Elfassy's recent endeavours involve working extensively on a Web site (www.pornetry.com), making photographic flip-books, and composing songs and ambient sound recordings. Mr. Elfassy has been working for the past 2 years for Human Rights organizations, which greatly influences his work.
