Puppeteer Marcelle Hudon is well-known in interdisciplinary arts circles and in new theatre for her unconventional works. She studied the fine arts and drama, and worked on the creation and manipulation of masks, objects and puppets with Félix Mirbt; marionettes with Albrecht Roser; shadow play with Il Teatro Giocco Vita and video with Manon Labreque. Her creations Les Portraits de la Renarde, Le Requin blanc se multiplie and Par Bonheur / Il y a, combine marionettes with altered images, objects, live video, shadow play and musique actuelle. Her work has been featured at the Festival International des Arts de la Marionnette, the Mois Multi, the Free Fall Festival, Vasistas, Festival de Théâtre des Amériques and at Calgary’s High Rodeo Performance. For the last four years, she has been giving specialized training to professional artists in dance, theatre, and marionettes.
