Marie SavardVideo ExcerptBorn in Quebec City in 1936, poet, playwright and songwriter Marie Savard has lived in Montreal since 1961. In 1965, she published her first collection of poetry with éditions de l'Arc. Over the next ten years, she wrote many poetic and dramatic texts for Radio-Canada while she was also performing regularly at the “Boites-à-Chansons.” She produced many song/poetry recordings including the celebrated Québékiss in 1971. In 1969, her play Bien à moi, "the first openly feminist play in Quebec" was broadcast on Radio-Canada and produced by the Théâtre de Quat'sous in February 1970. In 1974, she launched the first Quebec women’s publishing house, La pleine lune, where she worked for five years. She has since published numerous titles with other publishers, including her most recent book, La Future antérieure, with Éditions Trois in 2002. Featured in event
