Guillaume SoucyMember of Seugueuveugueu Quartet. Multi-instrumentalist and composer. Guillaume was born in Drummondville. After completing a college degree in classic guitar, he studied instrumental composition at the University of Montreal. Since then, he composed many musical scores for short and medium-length films such as Histoire de Pêche, which was nominated several times internationally and has won many prizes and L’écervelé, Winner of Fantasia’s DIY 2007. Guillaume worked on numerous short-length films within the context of KINO’s activities besides working on several jingles. He composed musical scores for documentaries such as Sour Milk and Honey, which was showed at the Montreal’s 2006 World Film Festival. Having previously composed for Symphonic Orchestras (The University of Montreal’s Symphonic Orchestra in 2005, and SDJD in 2006) and in addition to composing for smaller ensembles (Quasar, 2005, Nem 2005), he subsequently specializes in computer-assisted composition. Multi-instrumentalist, Guillaume has been teaching at Nantel‘s School of Music for 8 years. He accompanies Annie Caron and Élyse Robineault on stage, plays in Maytiss and Kalmunity’s musical formations and produced Fabrice Koffy’s album Poesic du slammeur for whom he also works as a musical director in the course of his shows.
