Alice Tougas St-Jak

At an early age, self-taught musician Alice Tougas St-Jak immersed herself in the world of music. As a teenager, she divided her time between music, theatre and writing. A graduate of Cégep de St-Laurent, with a degree in performing arts, Alice devoted herself entirely to playing the piano and the accordion, and, for several years, only composed on these two instruments. She completed her studies and then took part in several musical and artistic projects, including a tour of European festivals with the Cirque Lyrisque in July and August 2007, where she performed as a clown accordionist. Today, she heads up the instrumental music project entitled a l i c e, and composes most of the pieces performed by the other musicians, who play them on piano, Wurlitzer, accordion, trumpet, tuba and banjo. In addition to being a member of the band Les Sirènes, Alice sings and plays accordion in the bluegrass band Drunken Sailors. She also plays keyboard for Navet Confit and sings backup for Carl-Éric Hudon.
