JoséAntonio Venegas

Chilian-born poet and singer-songwriter José Antonio Venegas has lived in Quebec for almost 30 years. In his recent work, he has brought together words and music in concerts with strong theatrical elements. He describes himself as an actor who sings rather than as a singer, and his work is primarily for a French-speaking public. With his finely woven and poetic texts, and profound reflections on today’s society, his musical approach combines the folkloric with the new Latin American Song.
