Shin’Uet WangShin’Uet is a poete and writer who comes from Shanghai. He writes his texts in French and in Chinese. Born in 1977, he grew up amongst the ruins of Shangay’s and Chinese cultures where poverty lies next to ultra-materialism. Aged 25, before leaving for France, he was a veteran activist and was regularly hear on the alternative poetry scene in Shanghay. He not only read and performed, but also hosted and promoted poetry readings. While in France,we regularly visited l’Espace l’Harmattan, the Club des Poètes as well as Paris’ slam scene. On February 14th 2004, in collaboration with the association called «Couleurs des Mots», he performed L’Amant de Shanghai in Lyon. In 2005, his first bilingual poetry collection Petit voyou de l’arrondissement de Yangpu was published at l’Harmattan. In 2007 he migrated to Quebec and began singing his poems under the Montreal moonlight. Shin’Uet entered into the habit of writing as a personal religious faith, one where he seeks to touch the essence of our humanity while transcending all cultural barriers. Featured in event
