Created in 2006 for the Festival International de Musique Actuelle in Victoriaville, Mankind is a duo composed of interdisciplinary performers Alexis O’Hara et D. Kimm. Their artistic process explores the contrasts between performance poetry and electronic noise-making. Their dark ambient soundscapes travel to the depths of the subconscious. In their new show. they deliver a musical exposé on Bad Behaviour / La mauvaise conduite. livrent un exposé musical coloré sur l’idée du Bad Behaviour / La mauvaise conduite. . Exploring and deploring notions of social etiquette and feminine standards, Mankind does all it can to turn ‘the show’ inside out. Between the suddent termination of a song and an unravelling narration, huge clouds of feedback darken the stage and the emotional landscapes slips into schizophrenic territory. All the while, Mankind keeps their feet on the ground, engaged, «live» and in contact with the public.
